H. Chase Lenfest Philanthropy (HCL Philanthropy) is announcing the Spring 2026 Grant Cycle is now accepting applications through April 15, 2026.


HCL Philanthropy offers funding opportunities for nonprofit organizations working to revitalize and strengthen the Hunting Park-East Tioga neighborhood in North Philadelphia.


Our mission centers on transforming this community through strategic investments in community-centered initiatives that revitalize the neighborhood, enhance health and safety, and empower young people. HCL Philanthropy partners with organizations to enable residents, foster sustainable growth, and create vibrant, equitable neighborhoods where current and future generations can thrive.


Funding Priorities


HCL Philanthropy focuses its grantmaking within the geographic boundaries spanning from Sedgley Avenue to Hunting Park and from Broad to 9th Streets. 


Grants are awarded in three critical areas that align with community-led goals of the ‘All In Together’ neighborhood plan:


  • Healthy & Safe Communities

  • Environmental & Neighborhood Revitalization

  • Equitable Growth & Youth Empowerment


Grant Types Available


  • General Operating Support provides flexible, unrestricted funding that enables nonprofit organizations in the Hunting Park-East Tioga neighborhood to fulfill their missions, maintain daily operations, and respond to emerging needs.


  • Project Accelerator Support funds specific initiatives, defined projects, and program expansions with long-term and ongoing intention that aligns with organizational priorities. This targeted funding enables organizations to launch new programs, enhance existing services, or scale successful models for collective impact in the community.


Application Timeline


  • Application Deadline: April 15, 2026

  • Decision Notification: June 15, 2026


Organizations interested in applying for funding should ensure their work directly serves the Hunting Park-East Tioga community and aligns with at least one of the foundation's three funding priorities.
